  1. I think it's a great idea and agree with all you said ! The committee is already considering it. We're encouraging everyone to continue watching the website and Facebook page for updates. Thanks :)
  2. Dare I suggest... that although it appears that plans for the sale of forests, as well as the controversial clauses in the Public Bodies bill, appear to be heading for the scrap heap... that this rally goes ahead? The tone could be changed to one of celebration of the forest itself (rather than gloating in perceived victory) and it would show our government that we're not taking our eye of the prize, no matter what we're sold via the press?
  3. Thanks for the Winsford t-shirt connection. We are now looking into getting t-shirts printed and will update you on the website and the FB page. Kev, we ( the committee ) are looking at the best and safest way to include horses ( & their riders ) in the rally. :)
  4. Hi, For anyone considering bringing their horse, for safety reasons are there clear plans on parking and where in the protest they would be? Thanks Kev
  5. I notice the 38 degrees forestry petition now has over a half a million signatures! Elizabeth, I will make enquiries tomorrow re: T shirts @ Winsford Market.
  6. http://www.forestry.gov.uk/forestry/infd-8dfgg2 This link still gets through to the page with the phone number Jack. There isn't any other information available yet. We have been told more info will be out next week. I will update on here as soon as we know anything. When I called they said it would be March 7th, 10am to 1pm (very public friendly) and they would forward details by email. As you say, maybe they have had to reconsider the size of venue.
  7. The Chester MP, Stephen Mosley, was also absent from the debate but has expressed his intention, to me, of wholeheartedly supporting the Conservatives on whatever decision they come to regarding the forrests. May I suggest that everyone also signs the petition on the 38 Degrees website.
  8. Sally, YES we are getting quotes on t-shirts, over the next few days. If anyone reading this has contacts with a local printing company then please get in touch. David does the t-shirt main Winsford have a phone number ? We will update the website and Facebook when we know more. Liz -
  9. The link to the Forestry Commission website from the minutes of the Delamere public meeting regarding The Forestry Commission Public Consultation Meeting which is to be held on March 7th at the Fourways Inn doesn't work. I couldn't find any reference to it on the FC site any longer, does anyone know the current URL or has it been removed whilst they try to book GMex? I will be phoning 01229 860373 to book a place on Monday!
  10. Sally, There is a man called Neil on Winsford Market who does T shirts, I am reliably informed. All he needs is a logo. He can put the logo in using any colour for the logo on any colour of T Shirt/ Sweatshirt. Winsford Market is open on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
  11. Can we get T-shirts from anywhere? Might be difficult to carry a poster and ride my horse!
  12. Good idea Ann, I will also enclose my 30p with my response to the consultation paper saying "NOT FOR SALE!"
  13. Devon protest groups 1st rally is on Feb 26th at Haldon Forest. We're all in this together. Our latest ACTION, please join in: Send Caroline Spelman 30p with a letter saying: I have read the DEFRA consultation document and after careful consideration I have decided that I want the Forestry Commission to continue to manage the public forests. I enclose ...my payment of 30p, in advance, for the benefits I look forward to enjoying in 2012. The address to send it to is: Nobel House, 17 Smith Square, London, SW1P 3JR.
